ADJUDICATION SHOWCASE
It's time to RETHINK the dance competition and convention experience!
WHY DO THIS AND NOT A COMPETITION?
We want your dancers to have an all-around experience -- to perform, to be engaged, to be inspired, and to grow. This unique model allows your dancers to connect what they perform on stage to the work that takes place in the studio. We will encourage them to think outside the box and grow as artists and citizens.
-
FEEDBACK: We believe in dance education and positive reinforcement. Your dancers are guaranteed to receive honest, constructive, and appropriate feedback. No more blank critique tapes!
-
CLASS: By working with us in the studio, your dancers have an opportunity to apply the feedback given to them by their Adjudicators. Our classes will be specifically tailored to your dancers based on what we observe in the Showcase.
-
COST: Our pricing is more accessible than hefty competition fees.
-
LOCATION: We come directly to you! No need to drive far or spend a weekend in a hotel.
-
EXCLUSIVITY: Your dancers will receive our undivided attention.
WHY DO THIS AND NOT A COMPETITION?
After judging for many years, I was fatigued by the dance competition industry. I felt as if I was not able to give valuable and constructive feedback on competition tapes. I truly wanted to share more with the dancers I saw on stage and I knew that as educators we could do better.
As a young dancer, I remember listening to feedback from judges and longing for more information. I was eager to delve further into what I was being told and wanted to understand how to apply this feedback.
This alchemy of experiences led me to create DDL’s Adjudication Showcase. Using this as a platform, we are able to rethink how we can impact young dancers.
This interactive format gives the dancers the opportunity to be a part of the process. It allows them to think and be empowered by their experience. This is a game-changing, one-of-a-kind event.
We are eager to share, educate, and inspire young dancers!

OUR MISSION
WHAT IS AN ADJUDICATION SHOWCASE?
WHAT IS AN ADJUDICATION SHOWCASE?
DDL’s Adjudication Showcase is a two-part event.
Your dancers will perform for + take class with their Adjudicators!
Our Adjudicators will actively work with your dancers on how to apply their critiques for each dance.
Taking it even step further, your dancers will take class with their Adjudicators and learn how to implement their critiques in class.
This event truly connects the dots between the stage and the studio.
PART 1
PERFORM your dances. Our faculty, who are all experienced judges, will give honest and constructive verbal feedback to your dancers.
Our Adjudicators will then work with your dancers on each dance that is performed to help implement their critiques. A rehearsal with your Adjudicators! This is the most valuable part of the process.
Once finished rehearsing, wil will leave final thoughts via written critiques for you to keep.
PART 2
Take CLASS with your Adjudicators.
Classes will focus on our observations throughout the Adjudication Showcase.
We believe that growth truly begins in the classroom! Being able to apply performance critiques directly in class allows your dancers to connect the dots between the work they do on stage and in the studio.
Our Adjudication Showcase serves as an alternative option to a weekend at a competition or a Dress Rehearsal to prepare for competition.
WHERE IS IT LOCATED?
We come directly to you!
Our Adjudication Showcase is an exclusive event for your studio.
There are two options to explore regarding Showcase location:

-
Host the Showcase at your studio for a more relaxed event.
Workshop classes will take place at your studio.

WHAT IS THE COST?
Please reach out for a breakdown of fees!
Unlike most competitions, which charge a fee per dancer, our rates are per DANCE. This allows us to keep our rates significantly lower than the standard rates at dance competitions.
In addition, we encourage all studios to generate income from our events.
Our accessible fee structure supports this.
Please reach out to DDL for rates!
